Gadgets Aren't All Evil

School holidays!

Actually only a few days left before school starts again next week. Huhuhu
Son, of course has been enjoying more time in front of the screen.

I don’t mind.

He still does his revision. He attended a few tuition classes organised by his school.

We (or rather I) dragged him around to spend the morning outdoors.

Anyway, I feel as parents I should encourage him.

He likes computer drawing (or whatever you call it). Create a storyline and animate his drawings.

I think it’s good as a tool for him to focus, visualize and articulate his ideas.

Who says gadgets are all evil?

If done in moderation, it’s good. Anything done excessively is never a good thing, anyway.

We dragged him for a photoshoot last Saturday.

We will be joining the awesome Butterflies from Butterfly Project Community gals (with friends/family) for a movie screening this Saturday. ^^

And on Sunday, he’ll need to support Mommy while she does her 12hour run at Back 2 Endurance in Lake Garden.

That, and he still need to study, yes. Poor kiddo. Heh heh

  4. and it's school holidays!! i always stand for the point of view that, students need to rest and relax!! they have enough of studies during schooling days, and it's school holidays so they are to forget about studies and homework and play!! i do not understand why teachers must give holidays homework to the children and deprive them from personal time to do something they like..

    1. just think.. do you like your boss to call you and ask you to do something then email him or her when you are on leave??

    2. but of course, when it comes to school holidays, the parents play important roles to make sure that the activities their children are involved in are meaningful.. of course everything must be monitored and controlled for a moderation lah.. just that I cannot accept homework during holidays.. get the kids to draw, to build something using PC, to play some games, to go outdoor etc.. no harm to totally forget about homework and studies for a short time~~ :)

  5. Who says gadgets are evil? I think they make life easier and faster! You son is creative and Anay can see his good paths to a bright future. Thanks to Mama Lina for all her innovative ideas in good parenting. I always remember how you advised him to save money for his trips to Japan and I shared this motivating story with many other parents too. They also thought it was a smart move to make the child see his own effort.

  6. Your family is always wonderful to share activities together! My friends are mostly weird fathers who are lazy to exercise but game for alcohol and binge eating! They often target me with sick jokes for going to gym at my age. Wakakaka

    1. Anything salah guna become not good lah...

But just because we cannot control and yet others can, it gives us a right to see them as outright waste of time.
