Counting My Blessings

Life is good for me. I am blessed. I am living. I am living with my loved ones.

The jolt of the bombing of Boston Marathon made me realise it more so.

I'm not going to share gory photos (that I didn't take anyway) of the bombing site here. You can always go read about them at the news site. But what I am going to share is a movement by runners for the tragedy and a show of solidarity and unity amongst runners around the world.
Runners United To Remember. From Apr 16th to May 5th, we are running (or walking) for 4.15.13 Boston. Today, we wore our running tees. For Boston. For Runners.

On a happier note, talking about running
accidents do happen to runners, especially the klutzy ones. Here, a nice little scar gotten from my first ever fall while running. Good thing the scar is under my chin so it isn't that noticeable.  I have my vanity too, you know.

Life feels especially good when one comes back to a home filled with a nice enticing aroma. Beef stew was slowly cooking (gotta love slow cook function!) to perfection. Yes, this is tonight's dinner. The boys had it with pasta while I had it with some country herb cheese roll. And a cup of a really nice, flown from South Africa then to Japan then to Malaysia Roobois tea with lemon slice.

Yes, my life is good.

Now, if you excuse me, I need to go out for a run. For Boston. For me. For my loved ones. Toodles!

Oh yeah, a post of mine won't be complete without some self-glorification. I was in Jamie's "Runners Profile". Glemer you. wakaka

  8. fuyoh beef stew!! and i initially thought that herb cheese roll you bought from Cold Storage @ The Gardens (see, i am never wrong about you, hahaha!!!) was the meatball, hahaha!! you love meatball i always know~~ looks good, slow cooking sure the beef would be so tender and flavorful :)

    1. HAHAHA You understand me so well. Yup, roll was from Cold Storage.

      Look like meatball kah? kekeke

Beef stew was marvelously tender. But wish I had a bit more fatty cut of beef for flavour. The one cooked tonight was a bit lean.

  15. Yes, we are truly blessed and we should always give thanks and praise to God for He has been so kind to us.

People tend to complain...and complain. They seem to be unhappy about everything in their lives - I feel sorry for them as their lives would be so miserable...not just for them but also their family and their friends.

Happiness is a state of mind - feel it and radiate it...always.

Yes, we're blessed, and we forget it too often.

You still have rooibos tea left? I'm impressed. :)

PS: That scar on your chin ... is that really from falling while running, of from smashing against brick walls? ;)

    1. That particular pack of tea is now used very sparingly. Only for special occassion.

Like eating a beef stew that I had been craving for the past 3 days and finally had it yesterday. ^^

p.s. With a pointy/jutting chin like mine, I won't be surprised if it can smash a brick wall too! LOL
