Looking Back

I've signed up for my 13th race recently and it will be my second 21K run, which I will do in October this year in the Putrajaya Night Marathon. Last year, Putrajaya Night Marathon was the first ever road race that I signed up. How time flies when one is having fun. ^^
While Putrajaya Night Marathon 2011 was the first ever road race I signed up for, I ran my first ever race at a much smaller race at the KLIUC Unity Run in September 2011. (Got my first pro-photo taken there too. I learn early on to flash a smile whenever the bazooka lens are aimed at runners. LOL)
Me and Raimie at the finishing line of Putrajaya Night Marathon 2011. My second 10K race ever.
Third race was the IOI Community Run held in Puchong in November 2011. A 7K run. Plenty of drama to register myself to the race and I was sure happy I managed to bag one of the limited medals given out that day. Good thing a lot of strong runners were congregating to Penang for Penang Bridge International Marathon that weekend and gave me a chance to get the medal!
Fourth race was a free race. Kind of. We paid with recycled stuff - old newsapers, PET bottles and cans. It was called the "Larian Kitar Semula" after all. Happy to get another limited medal for this run. I was told that they gave out 50 medals for each category. ^^ Plus Raimie finished his own 3K at this race, while Mommy did 6K!
The start of 2012 got me running in the Multi-Purpose Insurans Run, which was my longest distance run at that time; as I entered a 12K run. Pretty lousy timing at this race but I wasn't too sussed about it.

No run for me in February and March 2012 got me entering the One Vision Run. This time I entered the Women Veteran category and somehow managed to get no. 10! No photo of me there though, because Zaini didn't expect me to get to the finish line so soon! Here's my bib for evidence! LOL

I bonked my run at Energizer Night Race 2011, the longest race I did at that time - at 15.5K which I did for more than 2 hours. I moped at the bad run I did for about two days and then I started running again. ^^ Life goes on. Plus I did get a chance to run at Sepang Circuit!

The month of May 2012 saw me doing two runs (yeay!). Paid one and a free one.

Early May saw me doing the "Larian Bomba". Decided not to enter the Women Veteran category and ran in the Women Open instead. Crazy route with killer hills that I have yet managed to conquer. Got my medal here too! Yeay me! LOL

Then it was the Standard Chartered Fun Run at the end of May. Free. In Putrajaya. Hence the reason I managed to squeeze in a second run that month. Crazy hot day to run. Ugh.
June saw me doing my maiden half-marathon effort. All the runs that I did from Jan - May was to prepare for this Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2012!

Future runs that I signed up this year :
July - Men's Health and Shape Night Run (which I will running wearing someone's else bib) next week and  relay run at the end of month
August - no runs
September - 16.8K Adidas King of the Road and contemplating on whether to join Salomon X-Trail at the end of September. Zaini said he didn't mind me joining Salomon as it is held in UPM which is very near to our home.
October - BSN Putrajaya Night Marathon and my second half marathon effort.

I wonder what/where I'll be doing my run for November & December?

November will be either Penange Bridge or Desa ParkCity (registered for my daughter for the 600m).
December normally only got Malakoff, unless you plan for Singapore SC (not recommended due to highly crowded, but worth trying for experience).

It's red, red and red top in most runs. I noticed out of so many pictures, only one is with blue tops.

    ReplyDelete

    1. The time I wore blue top was because I'd fade into the background with my usual orange/pink vest. The official colour for that race was orange! ;p

    November- Penang Bridge Marathon!

2011's Putrajaya Night Marathon was my 2nd run too, I did my first ever run in PIKOM Charity run a week before PNM. This year I registered for 21km in PNM, because my logic tells me that since I've done 10 last year, this year I should try 21 la pulak kan? HAhaha die lah.

It feels so nice reading ur blog Lina. It has been a while since my last comment on your 1vision run entry, but just so you know I am an avid reader :)

Thanks so much for the inspiration.
