I Am A Recalcitrant Payer

For my Indah Water bill. Received a legal letter the other day demanding payment. Ahahaha... Yeah, I haven't been paying my sewerage bill for the last two years. But still, not badlah, only two years out of the 10 years we've been staying in our current home.

You guys pay your Indah Water bill promptly?

  1. Oh..I pay every two months..

    1. Pay every two months? But I thought they are billing every quarter?

    2. I get the bill every month.

    3. I got it every three months also. That's why never remember to pay. kekeke

    1. I always "forgot". Anyway, like I told my hubby, if I can use auto-debit for it much easier... but cannot. ;p

  3. My wife pays for all bills and I pay for the loans! They cannot lock your sewage pipes so you still can berak as much as you like for 10 years. They will bring you to court and charge you for berak without paying. Kakakakaka!

    1. We have silly system that sucks here.

    2. Yes... and I pay through the nose for my water bill since it's under management body and they have a min amount charged, regardless of usage. So even if I'm not at home, still kena charge water bill as if water is actually running!

OTOH, my electricity bill is so low, the esteemed Kerajaan Malaysia always foot my bill! ;p

      Delete
    3. Heh? Minimum amount for water, nothing for electricity? I'm confused! (+_+)

    4. Me and my fellow apartment dwellers are yet to get our individual meter so our water bills are bulk charges to the apartment's management body; the JMB (and that makes it more expensive) and the JMB put a min amt water cap. Min we need to pay is RM30 quarterly regardless of usage or non-usage.

The JMB is quite reluctant to apply for individual water meters because as for now, they can a certain control over "water" and will happily threaten to cut off supply to owners that don't pay up their service charges & sinking fund.

Electricity bill - any homes that has electricity bill of RM20 per month (and this time thank goodness we have individual meters) the charges gets waived. I likey. ^^

  5. I'm a nice obedient law-abiding Japanese resident: all utilities bills are deducted automatically from my bank account. :)

    1. I think they are smart to implement that way!

    2. If all bills can pay by CC, I also do auto-debit for them all! But not all can do...

BTW, hubby and you same lah, TM. He pays all the loans and I "settle" all the incidentals (with his money.. part of them) kikiki

    3. So how you pay? Cash?

PS: I'm telling you, South Africa and Malaysia are twins!!!

      Delete
    4. Cash, through online banking. Hate it because I feel like I'm deprived from racking up points to my credit card and lose the chance to earn rebates too. ;p

  6. May I add that electricity costs have been rising exponentially in Tokyo? Nothing to do with summer heat. That other little problem in Fukushima. Sigh.
